I have a 1 GB MP3 player that has a slot for a micro SD card slot to extend the memory. Is there a limit to the size that I can use?

I would like to know before I buy a card.

  1. Most Standard SD cards go to 2GB

All readers I know can cope with that as its the limit for 32 bit addressing (OK 3GB is but they don't make 3GB cards).

older equipment could cope with more than 640MB due to using 16 bit addressing)

Cards of 4GB and over are SD-HD versions and only work on readers with 64 bit addressing which many smaller and older units do NOT have.

only use 4GB and above with items that have the SD-HD logo on them otherwise you're wasting your money.

  2. check with the manufacturer of the player to see that size it can handle first.

  3. I think it may go up to 4GB-or is that Mini SD...

in fact technology is always expanding and so in a few years they will be bigger....

Ask @ Tandy or Myer about something like that...

  4. nah,

    you should get the 2gbs

    because its really cheap.

    plus i got mines

    for 30 bucks!!
