Okay, to be honest.. it differs from state to state. On Long Island, it's 55 (rain or shine, rural or not). I know some places in NJ that allow you to go 75.

Varies by state.      65 for most,  70 for some,   75 in Nebraska,  and 80 even in far west TExas.

65-75 but my speed is 90 when everytin is clear and no cops if u wanna speed you should buy a cop rador that beeps when a cop is near by and go speed when the road ways are clear.

They've invented these little signs that they stick on the sides of roads that have numbers on them.  The small green ones are mile markers, the odd shaped blue/white and orange/white ones are usually highway numbers.  The large silver square ones with black numbers are the speed limits.
