Question:

What is the maximum weight my snowboard can handle?

I purchased a Burton BMC 171 wide a few years ago, back when I was .... a bit trim than I am now. During the past year and a half, I have gained about twenty pounds. Now that I want to hit the slopes, I'm concerned that I've gained more weight than my board can handle.

Does anybody know the weight range my snowboard can support?

  1. Well it depends, well yeah you gained 20 pounds, but that doesn't tell us how much you weigh. I can't really help you, but I wouldn't worry, a 171 wide is basicly the best weight handling board you'd prolly get.

  2. You'll be fine dude. If you start hitting the 60 foot jumps than id worry about it, but for moderate park and all mountain riding , your not going to hurt your snowboard

  3. Judging by the length of your board, You really dont have to worry about the weight.

  4. weigh yourself--accurately go to s board store and ask one of the sales people.  My experience after my son started boarding is most are pretty knowledgable.  You can also ask some who works at the equipment rental counter at a ski resort if they art too busy or a boarding instructor at a resort.
