  1. Each company has a different guideline and with some companies it will also vary based on age. In my area the max for a female with a couple of companies is 189. I do have one company that will accept up to 279 but most fall in the 220 to 240 range. The companies that accept a higher BMI will also increase the premium up to 80% above their "normal" rates.

Visit a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent will have charts for each company and will let you know which companies may accept based on weight and will know what the premium increase will be. There is no extra charge using an agent.

  2. is this on your own or thru work - if thru work, never heard of anyone reporting their weight when they enrolled

  3. I guess you are talking abuot life insurance.  Right?  I need to know your age and your health to give a better answer.   But, here goes.   If your still pretty young and in good health you can still get life insurance, but being overweight, the insurance company could charge you more.   Just like they charge more for smokers.

Please give more info for a better answer.   But hope this helps.
