  1. Ok, this is usually the pipe tag no. & specification which is determined by A LOT of factors. Different industries have different abbreviations for their lines.

    C1 could refer to maybe the material? or the fluid being transported in the pipeline or even might be a part of the spec.

    From 10"-P-C1-1002, what I can get is that this line is a

    10": 10 inch diameter pipe, and this refers to its norminal inside diameter

    (.25" - 12" pipework are represented by their norminal inside diameter)

    P-C1-1002: this usually refers to the pipe's tag number and specification.

    The owner of the pipe work will have a sort of specification schedule/record from which you should be able to know what material, coating, corrosion allowance, wall thickness,stress calcs etc information is associated with the pipe using the above P-C1-1002.

    In my own opinion, i'd say you should refer to the company and ask for their pipe spec. database.
