Everyone seems to think that Emo= Emotional but it doesn't as i am a emo myself i can actually tell you why i'm a emo.

We aren't what everyone would like us to be because we feel like the whole world is against us and we listen to depressin music as well as listening to My chemical Romace and Rock music. we have feelings too as well as other people but nobody understands how we feel and then we get depressed thats about it

EMO is a genre of music (Panic and the Disco!, Fall Out Boy, etc). Emo people are people who like that music and embrace it's culture. Some (but not all) adopt a "goth" style of dressing. In spite of popular belief, it isn't all about depression and darkness. There is a heavy emotional influence in the music (hence the word emo), and many of it's followers experience angst based on their demographic (age, etc).
