but what is a jam ?

like when people say "that's my jam!" It is your favorite song. Like MTV Jamz plays songs that regular MTV doesn't play. They play all the favorites or what would be considered the best songs to most people.

That's just a slang term for a really great song.  It would be a song that you would consider your all time favorite.  So, the channel has Jamz for everybody.  In other words, nothin' but the hits.
