What is the meaning of RAC in railway reservation chart? Can we get seat/berth confirmation when we are in RAC

If a passanger status is placed in RAC in railway reservation chart, What does it mean? Can he get berth/seat? What is his position to get seat/berth?What is the priority of RAC?

RAC stands for resevation against cancellation if you have rac3 then against cancellation first prirty is given to rac1 and rac2 then your number comes if any other cancellation is made otherwise you get sitting space.
