  1. "Downstream" can also be used as an expression

    ex.  My job went downstream from there.  

    It means that things went down hill, or did not work out.  


  2. 'Downstream' geographically is that which is further away from the source of the stream/river than a marked position.

    You would always drink water upstream from sheep or cattle!
