What is the meaning of gigaytes and megapixels?

i heard about it and am using new technology gadgets now but i don't actually understand how that affects my USBs or digicamera.

1 gigabyte = 1 billion bytes

It is a way we can describe large numbers.  A gigabyte is 1,000 megabytes.  a megabyte is 1000 kilobytes.

Okay, that said, if you right click on your hard drive, you will notice it capacity is listed in GB's  For instance my notebook has a 320 GB hard drive ... I use 4GB and 8GB memory cards when shooting with my DSLR.

What you are asking is like asking the difference between an milliliter and liter.  It describes a volume or capacity

Instead of film, a digital camera has a sensor that converts light into electrical charges. Image sensors are electronic devices made up of an array of electrodes (or photosites) which calculate light intensity.

gigabytes = gb.......... cheak ur hard disc capicity

1 gb = 1024 mb

mb = megabytes
