  1. You raise such a valid point. The Mumbai Indians have not been doing as well without Pollock in the lead.

Look at the result of their last two matches.

  2. Well i suppose it would help if there were more South African supporters in here,i only know of 1 and she has not been in here for quite some time now..

A few people have spoken of how great Pollock is but people are too busy talking about their own countries-or whinging about others countries and players...

  3. In the recent IPL Shaun Pollock took over the captaincy after Harjaban Singh was banned and while Tendulka was injured. During his captaincy he got Mumbai on a winning track and really lifted the team. When Tendulka finally started to play and captain he took them to a win for their first game and was praised and revered by all the spectators, Mumbai officials media etc Nothing at all was said about Shaun Polocks captaincy efforts at all. Pollocks contribution was completely overlooked I thought. He definatley deserved man of the match for that game as well but the officials seemed reluctant to give it to him, thinking they would of liked to give to Tendulka instead. Yes SAf seem to be overlooked in cricket and Im an Aussie saying this.

  4. Well I appreciate SA, & have stated the fact here several times. They will get more mentions when they are actually playing one of the sides who do get mentioned here often,i.e. Australia/India. I know how dull it can be when your team is not involved in a series or match.Thanfully, we in Australia now have one going on, so we're no longer bored! lol

  5. i know what you mean other countries dont really appreciate South Africa we have good players i mean you cant reach the number one ranking in odi cricket with out consistent performances i as a south african fan do acknowledge other countries have good players but i feel a lot of our players are under estimated Shaun Pollock should be considered a great of the game as much as a glen mcgrath but he is also an explosive batsmen Boucher has the record for dismissals in test cricket Jaques Kallis is the only player in history to have over 8000 runs and 200 wickets in both tests and odi cricket all the south african players are good and i think other fans may be surprised by our performances in the future look at graeme smith in the ipl he has been a major factor in Rajastans Royals success but hardly anyone acknowledges him or how pollocks bowling and captaincy brought mumbai out of the deep hole they were in i agree with you

  6. Watching matches makes one a fan; cools us ;-)
