  1. It means the Last and Final Prophet/Apostle/Messenger of Allah.

33:40 MUHAMMAD is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.

33:40 Ma kana muhammadun aba ahadin min rijalikum walakin rasoola Allahi wakhatama alnnabiyyeena wakana Allahu bikulli shayin AAaleeman

Who so ever believes in any other Prophet after Prophet Mohammad PBUH,  he is not a Muslim. Because when we say, "There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is the Prophet of Allah" it means we declare that now we follow Prophet Mohammad PBUH and there is no other Prophet to dismiss his Shariah.

    Hope it answers the question.

  2. some people think "khatim" means ring , but it means  "finale" , so no prophet is after Muhammed(pbuh)

    qadyanis must know that

  3. Bismillāhir-Raúmānir-Raúeem = "In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate".

"Khatimul Nabiyeen" = Last prophet, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

ISLAM IS THE CONCLUSION OF THE TEACHINGS OF "ABRAHAM (peace be upon him)”,  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€ÂœJESUS (peace be upon him)”, “MOSES(peace be upon him)” AND EVERY OTHER REVEALED RELIGION & PROPHETS.

Basic misconception about Islam is that it is started by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) but this is nothing but ignorance of those ppl who say so, actually Islam completed on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it was started with the birth of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him).

"ABRAHAM (peace be upon him)” ,“JESUS (peace be upon him)” & “MOSIS (peace be upon him)” TRUE PROPHETS OF ALLAH ANNOUNCED THE GOOD NEWS OF THE ARRIVAL OF HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him), prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is there even in Hindu scriptures, read Kalki Autar (I have had my research on that).

Allah says, in the Holy Quran, 5:3, That he has perfected our Religion, the religion of Islam. After the Prophet Muhammed, no one was to come and do modification in it.

Since Islam is already been perfected, we do not need any mesengers, to come and warn us or show us some miracles, and claim that he is a messenger or a prophet.

If we read 33:40 Allah says:

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things. - Holy Quran 33:40

So, this verse clearly says that there Muhammed (pbuh) is the Last of the Prophet or Messengers, and there is not going to be any messenger after him.

COMMON SENSE # 27:  Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not upgraded his PARENTS, but told the truth: Sahih Muslim Hadith 398 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik

A companion whose father had died in the ‘Days of Ignorance’ came and asked the Prophet (saws): ‘O Messenger of Allah (saws), where is my father?’ The Prophet (saws) replied: ‘He (you father) is in the h**l Fire.’ When the companion turned away, he (the Prophet (saws)) called him back and said: ‘Verily my father and your father are both in the h**l Fire!’

Abu Hurairah reported: "The Prophet (saws) visited his mother's grave and wept, and everyone there wept with him (saws). Then the Prophet (saws) said: 'I sought my Lord's permission to seek forgiveness for her, but He did not permit me. I then sought permission to visit her grave and He permitted me to visit her grave.’

Related by Muslim, Ahmad, and Abu Dawud.

In light of the above authentic traditions of the Messenger of Allah (saws), it is evident that the parents of the Prophet (saws) did not die on the religion of Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.) nor on the belief of monotheism. So much so, that Allah Subhanah did not even allow Prophet Mohamed (saws) to even supplicate Him for the forgiveness of his own mother and he also said that his own father is in h**l!!!

I COULD HAVE WRITTEN TONS OF TONS MORE COMMON SENSES BUT IF I DO THIS, THEN WHAT WILL BE LEFT FOR U TO THINK ABOUT?

May Allah help & guide us all, Amen’.

  4. its not about one person. It means that the chain of sending Nabi is over. no more nabi, rasools will come now~!

  5. I am just wondering why you are asking elementary questions.

Khatimun-Nabiyeen means "the SEAL of the prophets". In Arabic sense the Seal is the LAST thing to be put. Which in ALL senses means "the Final or the Last".

The Verse 33:40, clearly states that Mohammad is the Final prophet.

  6. "Khatimul Nabiyeen" (Peace Be Upon Him) - P.B.U.H:

is the Arabic for "The Last Of The Prophets" referring to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.

What is the importance of this concept in Islam?

Wow, it's a very crucial concept in Islam:

1- Muslims believe that there won't be any prophets after Prophet Muhammad, because he is the one who did not read and write, and he received God's words (The Quran).

2- So the Qur'an is not Muhammad's words, it's Allah, The God of all the universe, of me and you.

3- This way, if anybody after Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) claims to be a prophet now, which means that he reads and writes, then it's just a CLAIM, it's not God's true words!

4- As a result, Islam to Muslims is the only true religion, with respect to all religions. (Which were true before there were various Bibles and books!!!)

5- Do you want to know more about what the Qur'an really says???

6- The Qur'aan has only one language- Arabic :) But they can be translated, however, the Arabic is the only translation of Allah (God) 's true words :) True enough ?

7- If some people do not believe in the Qur'aan, especially non Arab speakers, they won't even be able to come with words like the Qur'an, which is God's words, because even Arab speakers, failed to do it. It's not a competition. The Qur'an is Allah's words, and this is a TRUE FACT.

Thank you very very much for your interest in Islam and for your interest in knowing about "Prophet Muhammad" , Khatimul Nabiyeen! (Alayh Al Salat Wal Salam) (Peace Be Upon Him)

  7. Lets see what is the meaning of it in words of some of the eminent scholars of Islam:

'The rising of prophets after the Khatamar Rasul Hazrat Muhammad, the Chosen One, peace and blessings be upon him, from among his own followers and as a heritage, does not in any way run counter to his status as the Khatamar rasul. Therefore, O reader, do not be among those who doubt.'

Maktubat Imam Rabbani, Hazrat Mujaddid Alf Thani

'From the study and contemplation of the Darud we have arrived at the definite conclusion that there shall, from among the Muslims, certainly be persons whose status, in the matter of prophethood, shall advance to the level of prophets, if Allah pleases. But they shall not be given any book of law.'

Mohayuddin Ibne Arabi, Fatuhati Makiyyah: Vol 1. pg 545

...prophethood has not been abolished and it is only law-bearing prophethood that is abolished.

(Al Yawaaqeetu Wal Jawaahir: Vol. 3 pg. 35)

The Muhaddith of Dehli, Hazrat Shah Wali Ullah subscribed to this opinion and stated:

'The meaning of the Holy Prophet being the Khataman Nabiyeen is that there shall not now appear a person whom God may appoint with a new Law for mankind, that is to say, there shall be no prophet who shall come with a new Law.'

    (Tafheemati Ilahiyyah pg. 53)

'No perfection, except the perfection of prophethood bearing Law has ended. With respect to the other beneficences of God Almighty, He is neither miserly nor *********.'

    (Maqamati Mazhari: pg 88 )

Hazrat Maulana Faranghi Mahal, an eminent scholar of the Ahle Sunnat also discussed the significance of the expression Khatamae Nubuwwat and on behalf of the Sunni Scholars, he declared:

'The divines of the Sunni sects believe in and expound the fact that in the course of the Ministry of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, there cannot appear a law bearing prophet and his prophethood extends to the end of days. A prophet who appears during his ministry shall necessarily be the follower of the Law of Muhammad.'

    (Majmu'ah Fatawa: Vol. 1, pg 144)

  8. A:

It means "Seal of prophets" i.e. the last.

He is Muhammed (Peace be upon him).

The importance is that seal always the final thing you put after finishing, so presence of seal means the completion of the message of heaven, now it is perfect, and we need no more to complete it. This perfection done by Muhammed (Peace be upon him).

So we, as Muslims, know that is impossible for new messenger or prophet to come after Muhammed.

"This day have those who reject Faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.

Part of the third verses of saurat al Ma'eda

    الْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِي الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمْ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا

من الآية الثالثة من سورة المائدة

This verses announces that Allah perfected religion for us, completed his favour upon us, and have chosen for us Islam as our religion.
