  1. there is no sure answer to ur question, after some research i have made for u in the net, most of the explanations the 'municipio' (city hall) are given is that the name was probably taken from the Roburentello - which is a river very strong that is passing between the mountains, and if u have been there u have seen it for sure.

    most of the Italian places are named after something natural - typical of that area, like: valtelinna - teglio (was the capital of valtellina and vale shows what land is there) or, sammolaco - laco like lago which means lake and sammo like some, word taken from English in this case...
