  1. I'm sorry, the only thing I could find was from an SOP on how to build the door of a car. "Verkippen" seems to mean the act of linking two parts (in the case I read: metal parts, but I don't know if the term might apply to other materials as well) permanently, like fusing them. However, checking into Wikipedia, I saw that "Verkippen" has many meanings in the technical sense. It is used talking about Geology (most likely talking about tipped-over layers of sediment), electromagnetic induction, satelites, Ivrea-body (and I have officially no clue what that is!), Hall-angle, Tridymit, Profen, optics and all kinds of playfull applications of it, and, finally, talking about the Franz-Kaldish-Effect.

It also has some meaning in waste treatment as far as I remember, but I don't think that is of any interest to you, seeing as it is not directly a "mechanical" meaning.

Oh, and you were looking for "verkippte". That is past tense of "verkippen". The word also has a "normal" meaning in German. It means "to spill"or "to tipp over".

I'm sorry I couldn't directly help you, but I wanted to give you the themes Wikipedia spit out for it, since that might give you a place to find more information or even just that tiny bit of "ah! God, I can't believe I didn't get this earlier!"-moment we all have sometime. Good luck!

  2. Listen I think you have a mechanical error in the word you have got two germans stumped, so we are looking it up in the new german dictionary. Verkippen something which you deposite which is not usuable anymore.
