What is the meaning of this symbol? Driving me nuts for years?

I've been drawing this symbol for year and I don't know why.

It's a version of a Celtic Cross, which i just discovered the name of today (Celtic Cross). It has the typical cross with a circle around it, but the bottom of the cross that would normally stick outside of the circle at the bottom is wrapped upwards around the the edge of the circle and back towards the top of the cross but doesn't quite reach the top. Maybe 1/2 of the way between the 9-oclock and 12-oclock positions.

The cross in the middle of the circle is also "draped" where there are thin lines that smooth the harsh angles of the cross center.

I've been drawing this symbol since i was a kid and would REALLY like to know where it comes from.

  1. From your description, it sounds like this link goes to a site that is selling a cross like what you are describing.  According to this jeweler, it means like $4800.  The second link is where I first saw the cross, but no meaning is really given other than to say:

The cross either vertical or diagonal with equal length arms is a universal mark. It is so primal that it exists in all cultures as does the circle. There are no human cultures that have no art or symbols and there are no systems of symbols that do not include circles and crosses. These marks are opposites. The circle contains and is unending while the cross both reaches out and marks a specific, finite point at the center.

  2. The first thought I had when looking

at the photo was Ireland and then persecution.

If you have been drawing this

since you were a child, my guess is,

that it is  somehow related to a past life.

Perhaps you should looking into doing a

past life regression to see if it can shed

more light on what this means to you.
