It shows the utter disparity of wealth between the countries of Australia and Sudan.  The video illustrates the ignorance of what others are going through, and our problems are nothing compared to most in the worlds.  It's not asking us to be thankful for what we have, it's asking us to do something to help other people in need.

the video compares the struggles of children in first world western countries and third world countries.  it tries to prove the point that certain stuff that teens face in first world countries is nothing compared to those living in extreme poverty that is barely surviving in horrible conditions.  this is a great reminder that we should appreciate the things we got and not be so wasteful of things that are perfectly fine.
