  1. wait listed 34 for sleeper

wait listed 5 for RAC (reservation against cancellation)

    I presume.

  2. wait listed 34 for sleeper

wait listed 5 for RAC (reservation against cancellation)

  3. The first number stands for the serial number i.e. you are the 34th person after the start of waiting list.

The second number stands for the current status (status at the time of booking) i.e. yor are the 5th position in the waiting list.

The first number can reach upto maximum value (say 350) depending upon trains and after that railway doesn't give tkts even in waiting.

  4. The First WL number WL34 stands for the Total Wait listed tickets issued from Start of booking without taking into account any Cancellations that may have occured.

The Second WL number WL5 is your Current Actual WL position taking into account all cancellations of reservations that have occured till the time the ticket was issued to you. THIS IS THE CORRECT WL position.
