to say that you are humanitarian, what is it that you suppose to do?

what socialism means and is it bad to believe in socialism in united states?

that which affects the human heart / mind / body  and we take efforts to redress / relieve the sufferings eg the homeless, the retrenched, the poor - its humananitarian if we do it.

when katrina lashed new orleans then we go all out to help - thats another eg.  

socialism is when the govt / society tries to redress the imbalance between rich and poor, tries to help the poor and get the rich to pay more taxes etc.

its diff fr communism where there is also political and mind control.

now when the govt, the city, the county, the borrough tries to help the poor - tt's a form of socialism

usa is a democracy and theres freedom of thought.  hence its perfectly right to think of socialism.
