I am including every group from The Church of Scientology to Landmark Education to the Boyscouts of America to Jehovah Witness to El Quaida to the United States of America and every religion and some corporations.

What is the psychological mechanism that has not all but most groups like Scientology, think they are the key to solving humanities problems?

Is it s necesary point of view to take to rally human minds? Is it even a bad thing? Maybe it is a useful group role to play (real of imagined) inside each group.

What to you think?

  1. It is a good thing that you are wondering that.  The human nature is a strange mechanism in itself.  Why do we do anything?

I sometimes think that the love of money is behind many of the groups you named.  That is certainly a very powerful reason to invent new philosophies, dont you think?

  2. Not to bash either, but its a false pretense to draw attractors to build their power. Out of every single person in the entire world, who would you think would believe in scientology or christianity (as an example) if the religion or priests didn't guarantee any sort of fix to humanities problems? The answer is nobody. It would be like buying stock in a company that says it won't make you money.

Money itself is irrevelant. It is a piece of paper recognized by society as a credit, and because its recognized, there is power given to those who have it. The goal is never money, because money itself is worthless, its power that people strive for.

If Al Quedia didn't guarantee some sort of heaven in afterlife, or the key to humanities problems, there would be no followers, and they would have no power.

If the USA didn't guarantee any jobs or wealth or security or freedom of religion, even if it doesn't always give it, there would be nobody here, and the USA would be powerless.

So if people were to start rejecting the value of our money as worthless, then there would be absolute anarchy. People who had power lose it and those who didn't have it got it. So it depends whether or not this value a company or group adopts is a good thing. If we were born without it, people would adapt, and probably create it anyway. If we were to take it away, take away the power, there would be absolute anarchy

  3. They gain a power base in doling out pleasantries.

    It's all for control.

  4. What? You don't like that Scientology, Jehovah's Witnesses and Boy Scouts help people? (And I'm totally kerfluffled on why you have included terrorist group Al Quaida unless you want to be seen as a terrorist sympathizer)

Why single those out, anyway? There are many many organizations on the planet that help people. Why leave those out?

What is the case that is the money that you want set aside?

The fact Scientology supports multiple self betterment and social betterment programs? Or that the Boy Scouts do? or that Jehovah's Witnesses do?

  5. Making a business out of fear and credulity.
