What is the golden-silver coloured metal under the car? What is it for? I've seen other cars (the same type & style as the one shown in the picture), but they don't have that metal underneath. Can you tell me what the metal is & what it's for? Your answers will be appreciated!

  1. Above answers are noted.

You may not have noticed this welded seam on a similar make because many cars come from the factory "undercoated", which is tar-like in finish and black in color.  That blocks grime, corrosion, noise, etc.

  2. that is part of the chassis of the car. the body of the car that you sit in. The metal sheets are formed and the spot-welded together. what you see there is the attachment point of 2 sheets of metal . It also servers as a strong point where you can put your car jack for replacing a flat tire.

  3. They all have it.  Some are more visible than others.

They are called pinch-weld.  It is basically give the car some extra strength under the car.  In fact that spot is so strong, that is where the jack is put to lift the whole car.

    Good Luck...
