I get 18 City and 24 Highway in a Town Car. I find this completely acceptable. I drive 29 miles a day, 7 days a week. I've had 32 mpg cars and 8 mpg cars so I guess I'm cool with the middle!

What's the minimum MPG you choose to live by?

  1. It depends on the car. For a V6 high 20s. If I take the plunge and get a V8 I'd go down to 20 MPG highway.

  2. I have 24 City and 29 Hwy in mine and I can say I'm happy, I wanted a Toyota Prius, but was afraid to buy one due to them being new and I was afraid to get one until they are on the market for a while, but would love to get the 65 Hwy it offers.

  3. I have a 5 speed HHR and only drive it about 5 miles per day in town.  I get 23 MPG.  I'd love to give my car up to drive my snowmobile everyday, but I know someone ruined that law in the US, so we all suffer.

  4. I find 12mpg very acceptable with my Ford F250 4x4.

  5. 75 MPG.  You will never get it any time soon, but we can keep pushing.

That's not bad for a Town Car.  You could go 100% synthetic on engine oild, trans fluid and rear end lube.  Also could get a K&N high flow air filter which.  All of things I listed, I use, and they work well.
