  1. seems to me it would depend on the location of the siblings.. I would guess maybe 18 check locally so that you know for sure.. best of luck

  2. 18

  3. If you are talking about babysitting, there doesn't seem to be a law.  It is left up to the discretion of the parents.  However, it is usually illegal to leave a child under 10 - 12 years alone.  This law differs from area to area.

If you are asking about becoming a legal guardian, the age is usually 18.  Again, each state differs.   It is a long and difficult legal process and you should contact a family lawyer.  If your parents are alive, it's probably impossible unless there are child safety issues.  If you have concerns regarding the safety of your younger sibling, you should contact Child and Family Services.

  4. You have to be 18 my friend!

  5. Every state has different codes. In Maryland the general rule of thumb is 8/13- - that is; A child younger than 8 must be in the constant care of someone who is at least 13. Other factors must be considered, of course, such as maturity, consequence, length of time, and so on. Always err on the side of safety of the children.

  6. If you mean as a legal guardian, its 18.  If you mean babysitting, that varies from place to place but usually it will be unlawful unless the older sibling is a teenager.
