  1. google it... and to the first comment i dont think i would want to go through a place called the farm

  2. I'm 22 and currently waiting on my liscense in KS for the foster to adopt program.  You have to be at least 21 with a place to stay and a room for the child.  You don't have to be married.  You can even have an apartment.  You just have to have a clean background check and some source of incoome.  Good Luck sweety!  I am excited myself I should have my liscense by Feb. 2008!

Oh Yeah you have to take a training class I don't know what the class is called in FL but in KS its called M.A.P.P.  I am going through an agency called "The Farm" go to www.thefarm.org they have agencies everywhere.  Hope this helps

  3. I am a foster mommy and we live in FL. I'm not sure if it's 18 or 21? My hubby and I were 22 when we did our M.A.P.P. classes & got licenced. As far as other requirements.....they do background checks & get your fingerprints. The health department comes to your home to do a safety inspection, and a radon gas test. It's not a lot of stuff & they try and make it as easy on you as possible, due to the desperate need of more foster homes. All I can say is it's the best decision we've ever made!! We got to adopt our first placement! We got a call for a 5 day old infant & got to adopt him! We now have another foster baby we got straight from the hospital & he is now 9 months old. We are hoping to adopt him also!! Best Wishes & If you have any other questions you can E-mail me I'm happy to help!

  4. As far as being married, no, you don't.

"Foster parents can be single, married, divorced or separated. However, you must have been in your current marital status for at least 12 months to ensure stability in your relationship."

    This website should help  =)

  5. Normally as long as you are legally an adult you can be considered for fostering or adoption.  However, adoption agencies in the US are going to be looking for some key things.  Level of maturity, financial stability, stable home, etc.  You'll also probably have to show proof of life insurance.  You do not have to be married to do either but your best bet regarding specific requirements is to contact child services and ask.  In most states you have to undergo several interviews, home inspection, finger printing and background checks.  They may also request interviews with others to make sure you are a good candidate for fostering.
