What is the minimum age requirement to audition for "So You Think You Can Dance"?

I'm only 12 years old, but I have a huge passion for dancing. I have been taking dance classes for over 8 years in all varieties of dance. I had a concert last night, and I had a dream about dance in my sleep. In that particular dream, it just hit me- I want to try out for "So You Think You Can Dance." This morning, I even choreographed my own dance routine under, "My Heart Will Go On," by Celine Dion. Now, I want to know the age requiremements, because I know that my current age is unacceptable.

Their (according to Fox) stated age range is 18 to 35 years old. That is referenced by an audition posting that I pulled from my website.

in things like these.... probably at least over 14. think about american idol.... kids under 18 got in (malakar, sparks, etc)

It's eighteen.

I know this because of one of the contestants, who lied about his age at first to get in, but now he's actually eighteen, and he stated that he can apply for it now.

And uhm, I don't think there are any 16 year old dancers o_o

you have to be at least 18. i'm pretty sure there's a maximum age too but i'm not positive. i don't think there are any 16 year olds on the show. i found this on the sytycd site like last year cuz i was wondering too. i don't remember where on the site it was but i'm sure it's there somewhere.

Hey if you are really really REALLY passionate about it, who cares about the age requirement!

GO THERE and make the judges see you!

haha but make sure you can persevere. The course is super hard and everyone's so good.
