  1. Generally, children under 16 cannot be employed in regular full-time jobs. Children aged 14 can do light work up to 7 hours a day during the school holidays . Between 15 and 16 they may do light work up to 8 hours a week during school term time. Finally, children can be employed in film, cultural, advertising work or sport under licences issued by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
