  1. hey !!! no you don't need a triangle ... it's not an obligation it's an advice to have this in your car if you have an accident or something like this but no it's not an ablogation !!!

  2. No break down equipment is compulsory in France for cars (like the red triangle in the UK) The red triangle is mandatory in France only for vehicles heavier than 3500kg or if you're trucking something, like a caravan.

To be on the safe side, optional:

    High Visibility jacket

    Red Triangle

    Spare light bulbs

    Fire Extinguisher

    First help kit

Like the person above wrote, also remember the beam blankers fixed. And place a GB sticker on the left rear side of your car. Even if your registration number shows GB it's good to display a larger sticker so the other drivers are aware that you may not have full visibility when taking over.

    Have a nice trip!

  3. Hi there - we have travelled to France for the past 3 years and have taken a Warning triangle, a high vis vest and a first aid kit.  Not sure if this was compulsory though, we got this info from the the AA.

    try www.theAA.com

  4. I travel to France several times a year to be legal you need headlight beam adapters

    GB sticker

    warning triangle

    spare bulbs

    reflective vest

    fire extinguisher

    first aid kit

  5. A warning triangle, spare bulbkit, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, high visibility jacket (not compulsory, but useful).  Take your normal equipment for changing a tyre and don't forget your beam blankers which are a legal requirement to be fitted, even if you are travelling on the first day during the daylight.

  6. I try to always take

    a) a portable battery charger (fully charged) and a set of jump leads

    b) a tyre inflate which can be plugged into your cigarette lighter or portable battery charger

    c) a ratchet set

    d) a foam tyre filler in case you get two punctures and one spare wheel is not enough

    e) a jack

    f) spare fuses

    g) some wire to connect any electrical failures

    h) a first aid kit and a couple of fire extinguishers (a foam/co2 one and a water one)  - water extinguishers are no use on fuel fires

    i) apparently the legal requirements in some European countries (not France) are a triangle, a fire extinguisher, a luminous jacket, and a first aid kit; but they are not high on my priorities

    j) a packet of aspirin

  7. First Aid kit, High visibility vest - one per passenger, spare light bulbs (the French are very particular about lights), Headlight deftectors, GB sticker, and a Warning triangle.  These have been essential for ages.  I've recently heard that you need a fire extinguisher too.
