Question:

What is the minimum number for eyes to qualify for glasses?

I think i'm like .7 and .8? i'm not sure...Also, i don't know if my eyes are bad enough to get glasses but i am having trouble seeing certain things, if the optometrist doesn't think i need them, can i tell him to get me some minor adjusted ones? i really think i need them

  1. you can,  but they can get expensive thought.


  2. Even for small sight problems, you can get glasses. I have a very light astigmatism and I have glasses just for driving so I can read the signs better. I can do it without the glasses but it's easier to do with the glasses.

Well the optometrist can't really tell you not to get them; he has to give you your prescription.  Most of the time if the prescription is small, the doctor will just recommend you don't get glasses because they aren't worth the money if you aren't going to see much of a difference.  Have the doctor trial frame your prescription--he can put lenses in front of your eyes that will mimic what it will look like through your glasses.  If you notice a difference, you like how clear it is, and you think it would be worth the money for glasses, then go ahead and order the glasses.

  4. Well....usually two eyes are required.
