Primarily the Olympia, Lacey area. I know the minimum wage is $8.07, but I've heard that some states pay tipped employees less, assuming that their tips will make up the difference.

  1. Expect around minimum wage as a server/waiter wage, some may offer $1. to $2. above that.  Your key to a successful food server job is to find a restaurant that has a high rate of customers, make sure you keep your tips rather than pooling (tips are considered taxable wages you're expected to record them to be reported) also (tips should be considered part of your pay for bills/gas not fun money or you'll be broke).  And be sure you're guaranteed good shifts (busy times rather than dead times) so you'll earn tips, as well as weekly hours 20 hours isn't much of a living.  Good luck.

  2. My friend is a server in Western Washington and she makes $8.07 (minimum wage) per hour plus tips.
