The minimum wage for employees aged 18 years and over rose to NZ$12 an hour before tax on 1 April, 2008.

There is also a new entrants minimum wage that applies to some 16 and 17 year olds at $9.60 an hour before tax. This sort of replaces the youth rate.

I think it's just gone up to $10 an hour...but i dont live there anymore, but i do check the local news twice a day, & i think it's $10....
