What is the money you get for adopting a child called?

i want to know what is the money that an adoptive parent or/grandparent recieves from the state is called ? and do they receive this for the child and for how long?

Adoption/fostercare subsidies or stipends don't begin to give you "extra money" or make you rich. These kids are coming with so many special needs! I once had two foster daughters dropped off with just the clothes on their backs!

A subsidy is the assistance that the state gives caretakers in some situations, where the child may require therapy or special medical care, or the state feels that a family member cannot care for the child without the help.  It is reasoned that this help for a family member would be less expensive for the taxpayers than keeping the child in foster care, and therefore it is used as a way to reimburse the family or foster family or adoptive family for their expenses.  It in now way covers all the expenses necessary to raise a child!  Some situations may require that the subsidy be given until the child reaches 18, or may just be for a specified number of years depending on the child's situation, or the family's ability to pay these expenses on their own.

This is only given by the state agencies who have custody of a child due to neglect or abuse.  These fees are paid by the taxpayers through our taxes.

A subsidy is the assistance It is not wrong to take this.   It is like social security for the child.  You get it till they are 18 plus they get medical till then also through the state.  It helps out with food, meds, clothing, or you can open a bank acc.  and save it for their education.  Depending on the state and child depends on how much it is. Don't feelguilty over taking it.  They offer it and you should take it for the child.
