What is the monthly bill for a local land line service without long distance ,call waiting etc from AT & T ?

I thought its was only 25$-30$ for month.Now Its been 4 months since I installed , I see the bill and its $500

  1. I believe what you are wanting to know is the "bare bones" telephone service cost. Call your phone company and ask them for a price for P.O.T.S. They should know that stands for Plain Old Telephone Service. Just touch tone compatible and a dial tone. No call waiting, no caller ID, no three way, no star this or star that. It may be as cheap as $20.00 before taxes. If you want better service, and lower rates, try:  talk.com. Just make sure you don't let anyone make long distance calls on it. The phone company may select a long distance plan for you.


  2. Read your bill and see where these charges are coming from. If you have used any long distance, 411, operator assistance you will be charged for that. Instead of asking your question here, call the billing department and ask them.
