What is the monthly cost of living in India?

I'm saving up so that I can live in india for a few months and travel around. I'm trying to calculate what would be an appropriate amount to save up for. What is the average cost of living a month?

Any help would be appreciated.

some people can earn less than 80 Rp a day others earn more than you. It all depends where you want to go and where you want to stay, and what you want to drink/eat. India in Kolkotta (for eamaple can cost about 300Rp a day for a foreigner (or 2 GBP or 4 USD), or you could spend 500USD / 250 GBP in Mumbai
