I am considering going to Louisiana sometime in the next 12 months. I'll be going on a swamp tour, etc. I'm wondering if there is a best time to go when mosquitoes are at their least. Fall? Summer? Spring?

  1. usually mosquitoes needs water to lay their eggs so i think it gonna be summer. Summer has the heat and it also has the water. Like in Montana, hot weather has extend the mosquito season into September.

anyway some tips that might be help:

    1. limit outdoor activity

    2. wear protective clothing, such as long sleeves, pants, socks and shoes

    3. use an insect repellent containing low DEET.

  2. Winter.

Water is always there in the swamps, but cooler weather slows mosquito growth. Although, it's Louisiana, so even 'winter' is pretty warm.
