I have visited a couple of former colonies of the old British Empire and they seemed to be more "British" than Britain itself these days . I understand that some of the old colonies (St. Helena, Pitcairn, Tristan da Cunha, and the like) are very, very British (stiff upper lip, regular tea times, photos of the royals on the wall, all of that), but I have only visited a few so far. What places have you been to that are deeply British in the most traditional sense? (BTW, I have never been to areas of the U.K. other than the larger southern cities, so I may have missed a bit).

  1. So the most American place is in the south pole and the most French in the middle of the Atlantic, the most German  in Russia!!!!!

Really where are you coming from - the places and people you describe are living out fantasies and are not Brits at all!!!

  2. Canada!

  3. new england?

  4. I visited Victoria, British Columbia

and it seemed to me that they were really laying-on

a thick british accent for the benefit of the tourists! LOL!

  5. **well,, try visiting England, Russia and other places such as UK countrysides and Germany..I remember that I have a research on those British places which is most visited by tourists and found this 3 countries,,there are alot more!! But I've forgotten some..There are museums and some replicas of building in these states,,why not try to visit 'em?

  6. buckingham

  7. Well i really don't know which but i do know why some of the colonies are more british than britain. Britain has been engulfed in the modern era with the internet and media and all that. However, the colonies are still catching up and keep some of the old traditions more than Brits from Britain might.

  8. Lake Havasu, Arizona, has reconstructed the original London Bridge, transported and rebuilt brick by brick from the Thames to the Arizona desert.  Hmm . . . maybe with global warming, in a century or so, London (if not engulfed by rising sea levels) will look a little like Arizona?
