  2. Most Irish communities (that I know of...=D)are located in Queens:

Broad Channel, Belle Harbor, Breezy Point, Sunnyside, Rego Park,  Woodhaven, Rockaway Beach, Woodside (Now mostly Filipinos esp. close to Roosevelt Ave.), Maspeth & Ridgewood.

    Followed by Brooklyn:

Bay Ridge, Gerritsen Beach, Marine Park, Windsor Terrace & Vinegar Hill

    then Manhattan

    h**l's Kitchen, Inwood, Hamilton Heights

    Stuyvesant Town, Peter Cooper Village

    and the Bronx

Bainbridge, Throgs Neck, North Riverdale, Woodlawn, Bronx &

    University Heights

  3. Most definatley it is Woodlawn in the Bronx

There are Irish everywhere....you are lucky to find an american but its a great neighbourhood.  I love it there!

  4. Today it's tough to say.

The poor Irish used to live in h**l's Kitchen, but now it's called Clinton and has been gentrified full of yuppies from the midwest.

The middle class Irish used to live in Sunnyside, Woodside in Queens and Bay Ridge in Brooklyn, but that has changed also.

The upper class Irish used to live in Douglaston in Queens, but that neighborhood never really had an "Irish" feel to it.
