Years ago I purchased a very expensive vacuum sweeper, we did not even have carpet, our furniture was old and very cheap.....by the time I got any of the above the sweeper was old...I always regretted that purchase, especially since I made monthly payments for about 3 yrs on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From age 16 to 50 I spent £1000s on cigarettes. I really didn't have that kind of money to burn.I should have used it much more wisely.

I bought a metal detector then discovered it is illegal to use them in Ireland.  It's still in the box, unopened.  Price about €100

We lost a huge amount of money on an Insurance Claim, for roof damage.  We contacted who we thought was a reptuable 'roofer/tiler'.. he did the job, and charged us nearly a thousand. We paid him then the roof started leaking within hours.

We couldn't re-claim for the same fault, so out of our own pocket we had to pay for another guy (who was excellent) to come and look at the problem urgently.

He found 'bathroom silicone' had been used to seal the roofing tiles.

The  'cowboy' refused to admit or rectify the problem, we lost out completely, and his company... well he apparently sold the business and left quite a few really angry customers duped, we, being just one.

Even to this day, I can't watch those 'rogue' programes on TV, without getting livid, knowing, just how it feels.
