  1. The Jefferson Memorial, completed 1943, by John Russell Pope, Washington, DC

  2. My first response was the Chrysler building (New York, William Van Alen architect), but then I read the other posters answer of Fallingwater (Edgar J. Kaufmann Sr. house,Mill Run, Pennsylvania), now I'm torn between the two! I must admit a weakness for Frank Lloyd Wright, but the Chrysler building is truly amazing especially if you're able to take in all of the Deco details!

  3. Fallingwater, by Frank Lloyd Wright in Pennsylvania.

  4. The John Hancock Tower, Chicago

Actually, there's another one, a new building at 131 S. Dearborn in Chicago, which I think is the finest building in the city and therefore the finest in the country. I don't know what it's called.

If you like architecture what are you doing in DC? Come to Chicago, man!

The Portlandia Building in Portland, OR is also nice.

  5. None of them.

  6. World Trade Centre (WTC) before collapse.
