  1. My daughter is 11 years old.  She was able to witness our cat have kittens yesterday and she has never seen anything like this before.  Once mama cat cleaned them up, we placed fresh blankets down and i laid a towel on top of the blanket to put the kittens on, since they were still just a little, um, well, "yucky".   Today, i went to change that towel since they were all dry now and my 11 year old told me:  "Mom, you can't take the towel up!  They still have their belly straps!"  referring to the umbilical cord.  I was so proud of her for still having her innosence at a difficult age!

  2. my oldest daughter is four years old and has helped me clean up the house and take care of her younger sisters and of course i told her how good of a helper she is and how much i appreciate her help!!  i have three awesome little girls~

  3. My 4 year old daughter FINALLY put her head underwater and swam...after nearly not being able to get into the pool (out of sheer fear and intimidation) with her teachers Monday now she can do this! And yes, I praised her and hugged her and told her how doggone proud I was (and I shed a tear behind my sunglasses because I've been waiting for this moment since last summer)!!

    Great question/post!

  4. I don't have a child yet (I'm 13).

I think I'm gonna go make lunch for my mom now.

  5. She got her first tooth! Not like she had much to do with that, but at 8 months old, its about time =)

  6. He counted to 3! No one had been counting and no one had ever counted the objects he was counting to him before. Of course I smothered him with kisses and complimented him. He is only fifteen months!

  7. my daughter said "mama"! Its been "dada" for the last 3 months!!!!! I just screamed!!!!! She is 11 months.

  8. My daughter is 2 (b-day is June) and at the park, she climbed up a rope ladder thing all by herself. She was nervous, and it took a lot of arm strength. I kept encouraging her and she did it! I was so proud. She also started saying "two" when we ask how old she is.

  9. My oldest son (3) grabbed my younger sons (21 months) hand when it was time to take him to class.  And I told them that was very nice.

  10. My 3 year old daughter (Tahalla) got two marshmellows this morning and said she would save one for her 4 year old brother (Myth) until he got back from visiting granpa!

I was going to give Myth two marshmellows to but since she is being so giving I was going to give them extra marshellows from the bag each when he gets home and tell her that was really nice thinking about him.

  11. My almost-7-year-old mopped the kitchen floor this morning and did quite well.  I told him that he did a wonderful job, pretty thorough.

My almost-5-year-old put the leftover baked beans from lunch in the container I gave her and did a good job scraping the pot clean.  Though she very literally put them in the container and left it on the table instead of going in the fridge!  I thanked her for her help.

My almost 3-year-old drew on my back this morning with a closed pen and did it longer when I told her it felt so nice.  I said thank you.

My 13-month-old zipped all over the house with her push toy, and I told her she was a big girl!

  12. sophie is 11mos and she is learning to walk. everytime she walks, she manages to go a little further. she made it right across our bedroom without falling (we have a big room). i started clapping my hands and saying clever girl etc, and she got all excited and was clapping her hands too. she is so adorable.
