What is the most beatiful place in New Mexico?

I've only been through there once several years ago, but I really enjoyed the drive between Santa Fe and Taos. The brilliant red rocks, plateaus and barren desert - awesome light and air. That whole 4 Corners area is amazing.

Oh wow, VERY tough question!!!

It really depends on what you want to do with all the beauty throughout New Mexico.

My first thought was Jemez (HAY-mez) Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve, the Jemez Mountains National Sceninc Byway, all of that Jemez/Sandoval County area is beautiful.

I am also partial to the area between Silver City and Reserve, along the Arizona border: Mogollon Mountains, Aldo Leopold and Gila Wilderness...

Well some of the famous (but not that famous) places in NM are White Sands and probably Carlsbad Caverns.

You know Taos is very pretty (where Julia Roberts resides). Santa Fe is pretty (but also a rich$$ city). Albuquerque is a busy city. Las Cruces just has the Organ Mountains.

If you're into nature, hiking, and/or fishing, I suggest Ruidoso or Cloudcroft. When I was in high school, our orchestra stayed in a cabin in Cloudcroft for a week, and it was so fun. Local shops were fun, hiking was fun.....

If you like the mountains, stay up north.  Any where from Raton to Farmington.

One of my favorite places is Carlsbad Caverns.  It is a must see.
