What is the most beautiful flower in the world?

This is not a fair question because not all flowers grow everywhere.

For me, here in the Arizona High Desert, my favorite flowers are the Red and Yellow Bird of Paradise.  They are shrubs, and are favorites of hummingbirds, bumble bees and Sphinx moths.

Both to me represent the beauty of the American Southwest Desert, even though they originated in South America and were brought up north by the Spanish Conquistadores.

I love wallflowers. They are soft like velvet and have the most intoxicating scent. They don't get a lot of good publicity but they

are hardy and will grow anywhere. My second favourite is the Hyacinth

it is a beautiful spring flower with an exquisite scent also.

The one that catches my eye at that moment. My lilacs, forsythia attract my attention in the spring, Wildflowers this week. Maybe the flower on my squash plant --- there is no permanent answer to that question. The answer is as fleeting as the life of the flower. Or my view. Is that a tulip over there? That's my favorite now.
