What is the most beautiful language in the world for you?

My native language is Portuguese (I like our many vowels and nasal sounds!). I think English is so interesting because it is a very clear, 'economical' language, and, still so pleasant and easy to listen to. I don't speak French, but I love its sound as well... I think all the languages have their own charm... What do you think? :)

I really like the sound of Swedish.  French sounds nice too, but Swedish sounds better to me.

Arabic and French.

I speak fluent Arabic, but not French. I regret not taking French in school :(

I love Japanese and Norwegian Japanese all flows together but Norwegian has really cool prononciation and I love the way the rs are pronounced!

I'd have to go with Arabic. Italian and Spanish sound nice, but for some reason I don't think French is beautiful.

p.s. Greek was not the first written language a whole bunch of other languages were written before it in different places of the world including in Greece itself.

I agree with you, each language has it's own charm :) However, my personal favorites so far are Portuguese and Arabic. They're just so unique and so beautiful. Portuguese flows perfectly and I have a lot of fun speaking with my friend in São Paulo, then Arabic is just so exotic and fascinating.

I personally love Japanese - it's just sounds so peaceful to my ears.

But I also like all the Chinese languages (especially the Min-Nan dialects!!).

I hate English because If I talk fast my speech becomes mutually unintelligible...In fact, it kind of is even when I talk slowly.=(

personally, I think Greek is the most beautiful language ever created not only because it was the first written language, but because it is REALLY easy to follow and to learn.  French is another language that flows together nicely, but it comes nowhere near Greek.  My family is Greek and we use it every now and then and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't like the arrogance of the French people though. They are too proud of their language. ..but I don't know why I still like French.

Finnish. yeah.  cant even explain why really.  it is just so s**y and i like the way they accent certain parts of words.  i like the rolling r's and the k sounds and the ooo sounds, its such a bouncy language
