  13. I haven't had the opportunity to visit every country in the world; but, the most beautiful scenery I ever saw was around the Obersaltzberg

    in Germany.

When visiting this region, it is almost unimaginable to believe that some of the most heinous people of the 20th century lived here.

Perched upon the Austrian/German border, Hitler built his Eagles Nest, Martin Borman, Hermann Goering, and many high-ranking German officials built homes here. Hitler's personal home, he didn't live in the Eagles Nest, was destroyed, along with Borman and Goering's homes.

When I visited this area in 1989  the United States Government operated the hotel that was originally used by the n***s for parties. There is a "bunker" below this hotel, which I was privileged to explore.

The mountains around this area are spectacular. I can understand why Hitler would want to built his "retreat" on the Obersaltzberg.

While in Germany, I went to the concentration camp at Dachau. Angels were there!

My daughter and I spent the night in a German inn, ate a German dinner, and embibed in a local "brew". When we "checked out", I was surprised to find that our breakfast was included in the price of our lodging. What was more surprising was that, at 8 a.m. in the morning, German citizens were drinking beer instead of coffee. When I asked why, I was told that beer was less expensive than coffee!

My oldest daughter lives in England, and my youngest daughter has visited her there. They traveled to Ireland and Scotland, and have reported those two countries are beautiful. I would like to visit England, Ireland, and Scotland to compare those three countries to the beauty I experienced in the area I saw in Germany.
