What is the most cold hardy type lime for growing in Central Valley of Calif?

Are key limes or limequats ever successfully grown in calif. central valley? Frequent cold to 28 degree F rare cold 25 degree F.

  1. Yes, they are.  What are you planning on using your limes for?  If you like Thai food, I highly recommend the Kaffir Lime.  Otherwise, any are good.

  2. i would stick to the persian lime it is more cold hardy than a key lime and more disease resistant.  the key lime is reluctant to getting citrus bacterial spot.
