my questions r not moronic. questions r questions, and if he/she think that way, then i dk why he bother to look. plus im only asking cuz im writing a story that involves teenagers dealing with drugs and guns, and violence. how the hel am i suppose know about guns. thats y im asking. he/she needs to shut it if he got nothing good to contribute.

Teenagers are not allowed to purchase handguns or handgun ammunition in any state.  That is the law.

Pistol competition shooters and pistol hunters under the age of 21 are allowed to use and carry handguns provided by their parent or guardian - or - use handguns and other firearms with parental or guardian permission.

Since teenagers cannot acquire a handgun on their own - there is no 'most common type'.  It's not like there is a hip new handgun brand they can save up for - or rad store at the mall where every kid at school just has to get their handgun at.

If you are wondering what is the most common stolen or illegal handgun used by teens - the answer is what ever is available.  I don't think there are so many illegal guns on the street that criminals can be choosy.

If you're "writing a story", I sure hope you have spell check on your computer. Your response to Metro is one of the most unreadable jabberings I've ever read.

As far as the question about the common types of guns used on (I assume you meant by) teenagers, I would think that since they can't legally own firearms, they are probably using AirSoft or waterguns. Oh, wait! You said a story about drugs and guns and violence. That narrows it down some. Most gangsters I know insist on Glocks because the name sounds cool, and they insist on holding them sideways so the ejecting brass pops up into the air.

Why don't you spend your time more effectively reading and learning to spell, instead of wasting it writing about something you don't know about and will probably just pass along the misconceptions about the glorious use of guns.

If the question is what guns are used BY teens, then most often it's whatever they can get a grip on, mostly anything 9mm in terms of semiautomatic. If this is a defense question, then anything .40 caliber and higher will keep these punks from attacking you since the blast from ANYTHING .40 caliber will shock them into submission and cause the shooter to feel major pain since some teens travel in gangs to hurt and rob.
