I thought I saw on National Geographic a structure made from mud by some animal that resembled natural (e.g., adobe) buildings. It looked like it was about the size of a basketball court (or maybe even bigger).

  1. Easy...

    CORAL REEFS.

  2. for their size, termites make some pretty impressive homes for themselves.

  3. coral reef can be thousands of miles long

  4. Wow This is a very interesting question...   I looked just about every where that i thought possible for the answer and as previously stated I could only find Coral as well..... If something different comes up I would love to know...Great Question!!!

  5. I'm goin' with the technicality here.  Cities.  Humans are animals, we created cities, they're pretty complex and large, so I'd say humans...Naked mole rats make pretty cool colonies too though

  6. Termites mounds of certain species in Africa and Australia.  They are large complex towers, made of waterproof cement from soil and saliva.  It insulates against the heat and has a system of air ducts to keep it cool inside.

Temperature regulation is so precise that the nursery chamber doesn't vary more than 2 degrees.

No structure in the animal kingdom, short of human architecture, can compete with it.
