  1. K2

  2. The one you are not qualified to climb

Climbing has inherent risks, these can be mitigated, with training experience, equipment, local knowledge.

A stroll in the park is dangerous if you have a bum ticker

Climbing something you haven't considered all the risks for and mitigated them is dangerous

  3. Annapurna has the highest kill percentage. K2 is right behind it and may be more difficult, but not quite as deadly.

Last I read, for every 2 climbers that reaches the summit of Annapurna, 1 person dies either trying or on the way down. K2 is slightly more forgiving, I believe it lets an average 2.7 climbers reach the summit for every one that it kills.

  4. That would be K2 in Nepal but some people would argue that Everest is more dangerous. 1 in every 15 people that climb Everest die. 1 in every 2 that climb K2 die.

  5. Annapurna and K2 have very high death rates - I believe the highest. Contrary to popular belief, Everest isn't the deadliest mountain - though it doesn't change the effort required to summit the peak. As far as percentages go...well it gets tricky. A certain route up a given peak may have a higher death rate than the overall peak itself. Talke the South Face of the Siula Grande for example...

And then it depends on the class of peak you are talking about. Do you mean a class 5 cliff like el capitan? or a trek? or a mix? Are you including all types of methods (ex. Alpine method). Do you include use of bottled oxygen?

So in conclusion - it kinda depends on what you are asking. The short answer is Annapurna and K2. The long answer gets more complex...
