  1. no it is not look up Spider Bites on youtube

  2. I would say brown recluse.

  3. A black funnel web is the most dangerous. One bite and your dead.

  4. This is probably impossible to answer.

First, tarantula is a sub group of spiders.  Generally, they are large hunting spiders that do not use their webs for hunting.  I believe that there is only one variety of tarantula that kills people.  It is in either central or south America and is known to charge and bite people.

The second part of the problem in answering this question is to define the word "dangerous".  If you are speaking of injuries plus deaths, then the recluse spiders probably win.  They are very common, and while they are seldom fatal, they do cause a lot of suffering and health problems.

The black widow, while very poisonous, isn't often fatal.  Nor does it regularly cause lasting effects.  However the bite is excruiating and will hospitalize a person for a day or a week.

The Sidney Funnel Web is the king of bad.  It is aggressive and lethal.  I believe that there is only one recorded case of a person surviving without anti-venom.  But, the spider has a very limited range and doesn't affect many people.

Spiders aren't really anything to worry about most places and times.

  5. The Brazilian Wandering Spider

The Brazilian Wandering Spider is very fast, extremely venomous, nervous, and aggressive. This large and dangerous spider is grows to five inches long, and is ranked among the most venomous spiders known to man.

This spider is believed to have the most active neurotoxic venom of any living spider. Its venom is so potent that only 0.006mg (0.00000021oz) is sufficient to kill a mouse.

This Spider is often referred to as the "Banana Spider" because there have been cases where these spiders unintentionally appeared on banana boats heading for the United States from tropical, and subtropical regions of South America.Tarantulas are commonly found during banana inspections.

The problem arises when some of these spiders manage to go unnoticed and begin weaving their webs in our unsuspecting neighborhoods. They can breed and proliferate until they cannot be controlled.

  6. The most dangerous Tarantula is not really a Tarantula but looks like one.  It's the Banana Spider of South America.  It's a very large, yellow and black spider that lives in the tropical jungles of the Amazon.  It's venom is very potent, but it is extremely rare for it to bite a human.

As far as small spiders, the two worst are the Black Widow Spider and the Violin Spider (Brown Recluse).  It is also very rare that these ever bite people, but when they do, if the person is healthy, they will survive.

Did you know that 99.9% of all spiders are harmless to humans?  Spiders do an incredible amount of good for our planet.  They help to keep it healthy and strong.  Around human habitations they feed on things like Flys, Aphids, Crickets, Cockroaches, Termites, Gnats, Locusts, etc.  Would you rather have "one" little harmless spider in your house, or 100 Cockroaches?  Think about that.

  7. Well, that depends on what exactly you mean by "most dangerous".

The spider responsible for the most deaths world wide are the widow spiders, which describe over 30 species in the Latrodectus genus, and that includes Australia's redback spider.  I can't find a number for you, except that it is reported to have a 5% death rate among reported bites, with many bites not needing medical attention.  There is an antivenom availiable.

Brown recluses can give nasty necrotic wounds, but there has only been a small number of deaths and they were all young children who were bitten in vital and sensitive areas.  There is no antivenom available and wounds can be large and take a long time to heal.  Most specialists will tell you though that the brown recluse is the most over hyped spider, with many many unconfirmed bite reports comming in where the spider is not known to naturaly exist.  They have been confirmed to have been shipped over by stowing away though, but such cases are uncommon.  There are also many other ailments that can produce the same kind of wounds that arachnologists and doctors say get blamed on the recluse.

The spider with the most potent venom is the Sydney funnel web.  These spiders are not related to the funnel web spider you see in North America, but are just very different spiders with similar common names because of similar webs.  However, due to low frequency of contact and small dosage, there have only been 13 deaths due to this spider, none since the invention of the antivenom in 1980.

There is also the Brazilian wandering spider, which is known to have cause a few fatalities.  They have a report of having 7% of reported bites needing serious medical attention, and less than 1% resulting in death.

Tarantulas are typically considered harmless because they are often kept as pets, but some of them can actually be quite mean and pack quite a punch!  First, there is a strong difference between New world tarantulas and Old world tarantulas.  New world (from the Americas) tarantulas typically have weaker venom, but instead they have specialized hairs they can kick off called Urticating hairs.  These hairs can cause nasty rashes and irritation, and blindness if they get in the eyes.  The spider that is known to have the worse of these is the famous Goliath bird eater.  Old world tarantulas (from everywhere else) are typically more aggressive, and instead of the hairs they have stronger venom.  In fact, spiders of the genus Poecilotheria from Sri Lanka and south India have put there owners in the hospital, causing painful cramps over the entire body, numbness, panic attacks, fever, hot stinging pain, and temporary paralysis that can last for weeks.  There are also unconfirmed reports that a child died from a bite from an old world tarantula from the genus Haplopelma.

  8. You don't know much about Tarantulas... they are sort of cute and you can hold them in your hand safely, just as long as you don't wrinkle up your palm.. their mouth is on their stomach and they WILL nip you but the are FAR from being the most dangerous spider in the world.

  9. brown recluse
