What is the most effective face wash to get rid of acne?

im allergic to benzoyl peroxide so i cant use proactive. since i stopped using proactive my acne has gotten worse. I need a good cleanser i can count on.

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

When washing your face and trying to prevent acne, you need to take a 2 point approach.  first take care of the oil on your face, they make acne facial soaps without benzoyl peroxide that work just as well, but don't over do it, if you dry your skin out too much, your body will react and actually produce more oil to compensate.  once or twice a day should do.  Second is take care of the bacteria that causes the pores to become infected.  Washing your face with an astringent like Sea Breeze 2 to three times a day is what I used in high school.  You don't totally get rid of the acne, but it is under control and not a problem when looking for dates...wink...  You have to set your self a regimen and stick to it.  If your a male, using sea breeze as an aftershave is great cause it will sterilize your face and pores when they are open.  Good luck and God bless.......Mike

While clean hands and a good cleanser are important, you won't get rid of acne by simply using a good cleanser.

1) Cook oatmeal and apply on face for fifteen minutes and wash.

2) Make a warm bath with blanch of nettle and rosemary.

3) Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball and wash it after haif an hour for 15 to 20 days.
