What is the most environmentally senstive fuel/gas station to patron?

I live on the east coast and am looking for the most ecological, forward thinking fuel company to start filling up at.

  1. Great question.  Anything but Exxon or Mobil is a good start.

    BP is a good choice, as it has invested billions towards developing technologies such as carbon sequestration.

    BP is also not funding misinformation like ExxonMobil is.  Here's what John Browne, Chief Executive of BP, said in his speech at Stanford University on April 27 last year:

    "It would take a purposely defiant person" to dismiss the climate change threat and the growing consensus worldwide "that precautionary action is necessary and need not destroy economic life," he said.  

    "The cold fact is that the risks are now greater than they were 10 years ago," Browne said. "Climate change is rapidly moving from being a long-term problem to a real medium-term challenge which will affect the lives not just of the next generation but of everyone in this room."
