  1. ROCKY  BALBOA !!!

  2. I would say Muhammad Ali or Oscar De La Hoya.

About 90% of the world(adults) know who Oscar De La Hoya is. He can fight any bum, and still get paid millions and sell his fight on PPV.

  3. It is Ali, for 3 reasons.  The first, being the obvious, his success as a boxer in America.  The second were his many fights across the world, I understand people in Kinsasha still speak of the Rumble in the Jungle as if it just happened last week.  Third being his conversion to Islam...all kinds of them folks excited to hear about the muslim boxing champ in America.

  4. Ali no one comes even close

  5. if you compiled a list of boxers ranked by "number of people that have heard of him." the list would probably look something like this:

    1. Muhammad Ali

    2. Sugar Ray Leonard

    3. Rocky Marciano

    4. Mike Tyson

    5. Butterbean

    6. Tommy Hearns

    7. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

    8. Lennox Lewis

    9. Evander Holyfield

    10. Roy Jones Jr.

    11. George Foreman

    12. Oscar De La Hoya

    13. Ricky Hatton

    14. Joe Frazier

    15. James J. Braddock

mind you, this list has nothing to do with skill or record, just popularity.

  6. ALi,no doubt

  7. Ali has the most recognizable face in the world, the young and old know this man, for many different reasons.  Here is a man who gave up everything he worked for to stand up for his beliefs, that is a universal struggle, not to mention his personality, there are so many things people love about this man, and he is louder than ever today even in his condition.

  8. Ali by a wide margin.  Back in the mid-1980s when Ronald Reagan was president, a poll was taken.  Responders were shown photos of both Ali and Reagan and were asked if they could identify them.  About 98% could identify Ali and only about 80% could identify President Reagan.

  9. the most famous and celebrated fighter right now would be Oscar De La Hoya with his apperance on the Jay Leno Show and The Contender and with his Golden Boy Promotions and His past super fight with Mayweather Jr. and His upcoming rematch with him on sept. 13 with Floyd Mayweather Sr. as his trainer

  10. Muhammad Ali is known internationally.

  11. Muhammad Ali is who I would say.  He is also the considered the greatest of all-time by many.

  12. Tough call, it's close between Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis, both were universally recognized.

  13. Ali

  14. Two words. Muhammad Ali and it's not even close or debatable.

  15. "Muhammed Ali.. He floats like a butterfly, and stings like a bee!"

Tyson's second, but not even he contends with Ali. Everyone knew who he was back then, and now decades later, he's pretty much a household name still.

  16. If you mean for all eternity I say Ali, but if you mean just for their time, I would say Jack Dempsey.

  17. Ali.  Even though he did duck Teofileo Stevenson, of Cuba, in the 60,s and early 70's.

  18. Would Muhammed Ali be a good one...

    Or Rocky?
